As an artist and a traveler, I've had the privilege of soaking in the essence of some of Europe's most romantic spots: Italy's Portofino, with its cute charm, Paris with its classic beauty, and that special something you feel when you're in France - it's all about romance.

In this article, I'm excited to share with you not just artworks, but fragments of my heart, painted into life.

Have you ever had a place in your heart that just keeps calling you back? Maybe it’s a spot you keep daydreaming about or one you're itching to tick off your bucket list.

 

For me, and perhaps for you too, that place is - Portofino – a little Italian paradise where the Mediterranean kisses colorful shores and life moves to the rhythm of the sea. As I sit down to share my “Memories of Portofino,” it feels like flipping through a vividly illustrated journal, each page a testament to the charm and beauty of this gorgeous spot on earth.

 

Walking through the narrow streets, I remember the smell of freshly baked focaccia mingling with salty air, the clink of wine glasses toasting to la dolce vita, and the feeling of smooth cobblestones underfoot, worn by centuries of footsteps. There’s an intimacy in the embrace of those stone walls, a shared secret between the sun, the sea, and the soul.

 

I bet you remember the boats, too, rocking on the waves, as if they're chilling to their own lazy beat. And the laughter? That's the real music of Portofino, mixing with the clinking of wine glasses, where everyone's toasting to the good life.

 

You know, when you pause and really take in the colorful houses dotting the coastline of Portofino, it's kind of magical, isn't it? It's like each one is dipped in a different shade, standing shoulder to shoulder, like they're all best friends catching up on the latest gossip and looking out to sea. Makes you want to grab a brush and join the conversation, do you feel the same?

 

Those colors aren't just pretty; they're comforting and incredibly insriping. Kind of like how an old song takes you back, these hues whisper of lazy afternoons and the laid-back Italian way of life. They speak to me, inspiring me to bring those memories to life on canvas. How about you?

You know, every time I've been to Paris, it's shown me a new secret, a different shade. That city knows how to hold a moment like no other, right?

 

Isn't it true that just the mention of Paris sends your heart into a flutter? Whenever I think of the city, my mind drifts to that romantic and cute movie "French Kiss" – isn't that the dream? The thought of Paris evokes a feeling of love and romantic.

 

Paris! You know that feeling when you’re walking down an old Paris street and suddenly there’s music in the air? Maybe it's a violin or an accordion playing somewhere nearby. It makes you smile, doesn't it?

 

And those little cafes on every corner, with tables spilling out onto the sidewalks, where everyone seems to be enjoying life. It's just like in the movies, but real and even better!

 

Have you seen the Eiffel Tower as it lights up in the evening? It's like the stars decided to visit the earth. And the scent of lavender from the markets, or the warm glow from the windows of cozy cafés, where friends gather and laughter blends with the dusky sky, capturing the essence of Paris evening. - it's so simple, yet so perfect.

 

I tried to put all these little things, the heart of France, into my painting called "Paris Evening".

When I think of “French Romance,” so many images run through my mind.

There’s that soft, golden light that bathes the cobblestone streets as the day turns to dusk, isn't it magical? It's like every moment is dipped in honey, warming the heart. 

And there, just around the corner, you might stumble upon a couple dancing by the Seine, completely lost in their little world. That's French romance for you -  not just love, but life, celebrated in every step, every laugh, every shared glance.

 

In my painting titled "French Romance," I've tried to capture that essence. You see, romance isn't always grand gestures; it's in the details -  the way the light catches on a wine glass, the murmur of conversations from a street café, or the delicate aroma of pastries and flowers mingling in the air...

 

Have you felt it? That thrill of walking through a market, surrounded by whispers of French, the chuckles, the greetings, and the toasts to life.

 

In my travels, I find bits of magic that I bring back to my paintings. "French Romance" isn't just about a place; it's a feeling you get, like love is in the air all over France. My art is like a little bit of that French love story for you to have. It's for anyone who's been to these places, for those who dream to go, or for anyone who just loves the idea of romance. Simple, full of heart, and all about that French "amour".

 

And the colors! The hues of France are a palette of romance itself -  the blush of roses in a flower shop, the creamy pastels of Parisian buildings at sunrise, the deep blues of the twilight sky. All these I’ve woven together in my artwork, each color chosen to evoke a memory, a feeling.
